The return of the storks
Spring has returned to northern Germany and with it the storks.
After a couple of sunny and quite warm days nature has begun to wake up again. The first snowdrops and crocuses stretch their necks out of the ground, Japanese ornamental cherries glow pink and the pasture trees are full of pussy willows. And then a few days ago – suddenly out of nowhere – three storks were sitting in one of the still leafless trees in front of our house.
So I grabbed my camera and telephoto lens and tried to catch a few images of the storks. And in fact they were not even polite enough to wait and let my portrait them—they eventually even started a short air show for me and circled a bit around my head before they sat down on the same tree again.
After that I only saw them once again from a distant picking food from a field. Looks like they've found somewhere else to raise their children.
